HIGH SCHOOL & WORK
*Obtaining a high school diploma is a requirement of employment at CCLB. Diplomas are obtained through CCLB’s partner, The Education Corps. You can earn your diploma AND work at the same time!

WORK (Young Adult Corps)
You already have your High School Diploma or GED.
At CCLB, having a high school diploma is a mandatory condition for employment. This policy ensures that all participants have reached a foundational level of academic achievement, which supports success in both job responsibilities and professional development opportunities within the organization. The Conservation Corps of Long Beach is a 12-Month Job Training Program for Youth Ages 18-26.

PHASE 1
Our program has three phases. In the first, Corpsmembers get on the job training and have access to skill building opportunities. If an individual doesn’t yet have a High School Diploma, they’ll also be enrolled in school. In addition to paid work experience, Corpsmembers receive:

Financial Literacy Training
Hand Tool, Safety, and Recycling Training

PHASE 2
By month 3, Corpsmembers are ready for some additional skill-building. They’ll start with these required trainings, then have access to a variety of advanced trainings that align with their personal goals.
Forklift Training
Mock Interview Groups
Digital Job Skills Workshop
Intro to Chainsaw Training
At this point, Corpsmembers are eligible to get promoted or specialize in an area of interest. To view our promotional structure, click here. Note that Corpsmembers who get promoted earn extra time at the Corps.

PHASE 3
From here, Corpsmembers continue with trainings, get promoted, set personal goals, and pursue scholarships. When it’s time to begin transitioning from the Corps, Corpsmembers are in Phase 3 . We’re here to assist Corpsmembers through:
