| CORPSMEMBER EMPLOYMENT The Conservation Corps of Long Beach is always looking for opportunities for the youth in the program to gain work experience. A way to help Corpsmembers gain valuable experience in the field; a company may contact us and become involved with our Work Project Program for the Corpsmembers. Types of projects in the past have included: Bus Stop Steam Cleaning; Graffiti Removal; Litter Abatement; Trash Removal; Business Moving Service; Tree Planting; and Sidewalk Steam Cleaning. CORPORATE RECYCLING With a corporate recycling partnership between the CCLB and businesses and apartment complexes, clients can save money on their waste bills, our efforts keep these materials out of landfills and job readiness opportunities are provided for at-risk youth. | SCHOLARSHIPS Each year the CCLB provides scholarships to the Corpsmembers in the One Year Job Readiness Program. At the 2009 Graduation the CCLB will award $22,000 to 13 hard working Corpsmembers so they may continue with their education. Scholarships are designed to help make continuing education more possible. Funds can be used for tuition, books, internet access, day care, and bus passes – anything that makes furthering the Corpsmembers education possible.
